* Ollie HutchingsTrainee Accountant

Oliver Hutchings was born and brought up in Bedford. He studied modern languages at Oxford University, brilliantly achieving a First, and then felt he would like to help others with a passion for education, so he had a brief spell as a secondary school teacher. Realising this wasn’t for him, he joined the finance department of a printing company and found his niche in finance!

He subsequently joined a small accountancy practice in London, specialising in assisting German clients expanding into the UK, dealing with their routine compliance matters. He moved to Suffolk in 2020 and has enjoyed exploring the local area on his bike as well as joining local choirs.

Ollie has completed his AAT qualification and has embarked on his more comprehensive training leading to becoming a fully qualified ACA Chartered Accountant. He will now be looking after a portfolio of clients under guidance from our experienced client managers. Here, he will learn all aspects of our work, right through to more advanced advisory experience further along that journey.

Along with choral singing, he enjoys bread making and cooking (yes, another foodie joins the team – it’s not a prerequisite – really!) and continues to nurture the interest in history and literature he developed at university. So, narrowly interpreted, that’s baking loaves of bread using ancient grain varieties from recipes written in Middle English?
