Urgent action required by employers now! Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS)

HMRC have announced that the online service for claiming a grant for wages paid to furloughed workers under the CJRS will be launched on 20 April 2020.

Before you can claim you must have a Government Gateway account and enrol for PAYE online. This PAYE online account will be used to claim the grant.

If you already have a Gateway account you can enrol for the PAYE online service by selecting the option ‘PAYE for employers under ‘Services you can add’ on your Gateway account. You may have enrolled already if you registered as an employer online. We suggest you check that you can access your account and activate this service as soon as possible.

If you do not have a Government Gateway Account you must now enrol as a new user immediately. It can take up to 10 days for your registration to be activated. Instructions are at: https://www.gov.uk/paye-online/enrol

The Gateway Account is your personal account and should be set up by you, not us as agents. If you require us to make the claim on your behalf, you will need to provide us with your Government Gateway ID and Password, which we hold on file securely. As part of the registration process you will be asked for your contact details, including a telephone number. A code will be sent to that number each time you or we sign in. It would assist us if the code were sent to our Jacobs Allen dedicated phone number, which we can provide on request.

Please contact Jacobs Allen if you need any assistance.
