Coronavirus Deadline for Third SEISS Grant

The deadline is fast approaching for self-employed taxpayers to claim their third tranche of the SEISS grant. You need to put in a claim by Friday 29 January and be alert to the more strict requirements of this tranche in terms of your eligibility.

As before, HMRC will not allow us to submit such claims on your behalf as the claim requires a positive confirmation from you of your eligibility. If you need assistance about these terms, please get in contact.

CJRS Furlough claims

These claims can be made by employers monthly and must be submitted by 14th day of the month following that for which the claim is made, so by 14 February (allowed to defer until Monday 15 February because of 14th falling on a Sunday) for January’s furloughed employees.

Business Interruption Insurance claims

The Supreme Court has this last week ruled in favour of businesses making valid claims on their business interruption insurance policies as a result of the impact of Covid. This ruling should provide guidance on the claim process to hopefully ensure swift settlement by insurers. If you have made a claim, please now pursue it and if you have not made a claim, please check your insurance policies to decide whether a claim can be validly made.
